Parallel Golf Tech Ltd (“Parallel Golf Tech”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides the SwingDeck Windows desktop application. This policy explains how SwingDeck handles personal information.
01 Scope
This policy applies to the SwingDeck Windows desktop application distributed through the Microsoft Store. The current Beta V1 release is local-first: its normal player, shot, media and settings data is processed on the user’s Windows PC and is not uploaded to Parallel Golf Tech.
This policy does not govern GSPro, launch-monitor software, Microsoft Store or other third-party products. Those providers apply their own terms and privacy policies.
02 Information SwingDeck can process
Depending on the features the user chooses, SwingDeck can process:
- player profile information, such as a name, optional email address, handedness, handicap and avatar;
- golf bag, club and launch-monitor configuration;
- shots, sessions, rounds, scores, course information, statistics, strokes gained and other derived golf-performance information;
- video and audio from user-selected cameras and microphones for optional swing capture and replay;
- selected on-screen regions used for optional local OCR and readiness detection;
- information read locally from GSPro and compatible connector or launch-monitor outputs;
- application preferences, calibration, file locations, device configuration and locally generated diagnostic information; and
- files the user chooses to import, export or reconcile, such as CSV files, images and video.
SwingDeck does not intentionally collect passwords, payment-card information, precise location or government identifiers.
03 How the information is used
SwingDeck uses this information on the user’s device to provide the features the user selects, including shot ingestion, Range and Course Play records, analysis, Swing Replay, annotation, floor projection, equipment configuration, diagnostics and exports.
Camera, microphone, replay and OCR functions are optional. Missing or disabled optional hardware does not prevent the application’s unrelated features from operating.
The current Beta V1 release does not use personal information for advertising, does not sell personal information and does not include Parallel Golf Tech cloud-account synchronisation or application telemetry.
04 Storage and disclosure
SwingDeck’s normal application data is stored locally on the user’s PC. Replay media may also be stored in a location selected by the user. The user controls the Windows account, device, storage locations, backups and any copies they choose to export or share.
Parallel Golf Tech does not receive locally stored SwingDeck data unless the user deliberately sends information to us, for example in a support email or as a diagnostic file supplied for troubleshooting.
The Microsoft Store independently processes account, acquisition, payment, installation and reliability information under Microsoft’s own privacy terms. Parallel Golf Tech may receive Store reports made available by Microsoft.
We may disclose information if the user asks us to do so, if necessary to provide requested support, or where disclosure is required by law. We do not sell personal information.
05 Lawful bases
Where UK data-protection law applies and Parallel Golf Tech receives personal information, we rely on:
- performance of a contract, where processing is needed to provide SwingDeck or requested support;
- consent, where the user voluntarily enables optional capture functions or sends us diagnostic or support material; and
- legitimate interests, where necessary to secure, maintain and improve the product, respond to support requests and protect our legal rights, provided those interests are not overridden by the individual’s rights.
Most Beta V1 processing occurs solely on the user’s device, under the user’s control, without the information being received by Parallel Golf Tech.
06 Retention and deletion
Local records remain on the user’s device until the user deletes them through SwingDeck where deletion controls are available, or removes them from the relevant local storage location. Original replay media, derived exports and application records can have different lifecycles. Deleting replay media does not necessarily delete its associated shot record, and deleting a shot record does not necessarily delete exported copies.
Uninstalling SwingDeck may not remove user-owned data stored outside the application package, including the local database, settings, backups and media in user-selected folders. Users should remove those separately if they want them deleted.
Information deliberately sent to Parallel Golf Tech for support is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain an appropriate support record and meet legal obligations. We would normally aim to delete or anonymise routine support material no later than 24 months after the matter is closed, unless there is a valid reason to retain it longer.
07 Security
SwingDeck uses the Windows user’s local storage and access controls. Users should protect their Windows account, keep Windows and related simulator software updated, restrict access to their PC and use appropriate backup and device-security measures. No method of storage is completely secure.
When sending diagnostic files to us, users should review their contents and remove information they do not want to share.
08 User choices and rights
Users can choose whether to enable optional camera, microphone, Replay and OCR features, select media-storage locations, correct or exclude supported records, and delete supported local content.
Depending on where the user lives and the circumstances, they may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection for personal information held by Parallel Golf Tech, and to withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis. These rights do not give Parallel Golf Tech remote access to information that exists only on the user’s PC.
Requests can be sent to info@parallelgolftech.com. We may need to verify the requester’s identity before responding.
UK users may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
09 Children
SwingDeck is a golf-simulator utility and is not directed specifically at children. A parent, guardian or responsible facility operator should supervise use and profile creation for children where required by applicable law.
10 International use
Because Beta V1 normally stores information locally, Parallel Golf Tech does not routinely transfer SwingDeck player, shot or media data internationally. If a user sends us a support request from another country, that communication may be processed in the United Kingdom and by the communication providers used to deliver it, subject to appropriate legal safeguards where required.
11 Future services and policy changes
Beta V1 does not include a SwingDeck cloud account, cross-device sync, facility-wide profile service or CaddieIQ data exchange. Before introducing features that materially change how personal information is collected or shared, we will update this policy and provide any notices or choices required by law.
We may update this policy as SwingDeck changes or legal requirements develop. The latest version will be published at the privacy-policy URL with its updated date.
